03/18/2010 - Indian Wells, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Former world No. 1 Jelena Jankovic was a straight-set quarterfinal victor Thursday at the $4.5 million BNP Paribas Open.

The sixth-seeded Jankovic moved into the semifinals at this top-flight hardcourt event with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over 23rd-seeded Russian Alisa Kleybanova at the beautiful Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Jankovic prevailed in 1 hour, 42 minutes, with the help of three service breaks against the 20-year-old Kleybanova, who captured her first career WTA Tour title in Malaysia three weeks ago.

The 25-year-old Jankovic, a former U.S. Open runner-up, will now appear in her first semifinal in five tournaments so far this season.

Jankovic will face eighth-seeded Aussie Samantha Stosur or 28th-seeded Spaniard Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez in Friday's semifinals. The other semi, which was determined here on Wednesday, will pit second-seeded Dane Caroline Wozniacki against fifth-seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska.

The 2010 Indian Wells winner will earn $700,000.
