Blue Jays bring up Dellucci, designate Adams for assignment

07/03/2009 - Bronx, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Toronto Blue Jays purchased the contract of outfielder David Dellucci from Triple-A Las Vegas and designated infielder Russ Adams for assignment on Friday.

The 35-year-old Dellucci signed a minor league contract with the Jays on June 10 after appearing in just 14 games for the Indians earlier this season. He hit .275 with three doubles and one RBI and was designated for assignment on May 29.

Since joining the Toronto organization, Dellucci batted .317 with three home runs and nine RBI in 16 games for Las Vegas. The left-handed hitting Dellucci has a career .258 average.

Adams hit .238 in eight games for Toronto this season.

Huskers' Lucky hospitalized for undisclosed reason

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Nebraska running back Marlon Lucky was hospitalized Monday for undisclosed reasons after Lincoln police responded to a call at his residence.

The Nebraska athletic department said in a release Monday that Lucky was admitted Sunday night.
